Graduate School can be a highly rewarding and life-altering experience. It also has the potential to leave students feeling isolated, uncertain and in poor mental health. I would like to share my experiences and best counsel on these issues with my TerreWEB colleagues and whoever else cares to listen. Warning: there will be music!
Deon Louw is an MSc student in Forest Sciences under the supervision of Suzanne Simard. He is examining the potential forest health benefits of growing mixed broadleaf-conifer forests in the Southern Interior of BC. He has a professional background in Forestry, Biology and Environmental Science and has worked in many different regions of British Columbia. He holds an undergraduate degree in English Literature and a technical diploma in Environmental Planning.
